Jubail Mangrove Park
Situated between Saadiyat Island and Yas Island, Jubail Mangrove Park is Abu Dhabi's premier educational, nature, and leisure destination. Dedicated to the protection of the UAE's vital mangrove ecosystems, the sanctuary features over two kilometers of winding elevated timber boardwalks that carry visitors gently through tidal creeks and dense Grey Mangrove (Avicennia marina) forests without disturbing the delicate roots. The park offers six distinct educational nodes, including the Salt Collector, the Roots View, and a Floating Platform. Visitors can observe schools of juvenile fish, swimming crabs, foraging Western Reef Herons, flamingos, and occasional gazelles crossing the sandbars. Mangroves play a crucial role in combating global climate change, sequestering up to four times more carbon than terrestrial rainforests while protecting the coast from erosion. Exploring this serene coastal forest provides an intimate encounter with the natural green soul of Abu Dhabi.
