Dubai Opera

Situated in the vibrant Opera District of Downtown Dubai, Dubai Opera is the UAE's premier performing arts venue. Designed by Atkins and architect Janus Rostock, the building's exterior honors Dubai's maritime heritage by taking the shape of a traditional Arabian sailing dhow. The 'bow' of the vessel houses the main stage, orchestra, and seating, while the elongated 'hull' features waiting areas, taxi drop-offs, and dining venues. The architectural genius of the 2,000-seat auditorium lies in its extraordinary versatility. Using cutting-edge hydraulic lifts and acoustic baffles, the venue can seamlessly transform from a classical opera theater into a concert hall, or into a completely flat-floor banquet and exhibition space in a matter of hours. Dubai Opera hosts a world-class calendar of international opera, ballet, symphonic concerts, West End and Broadway musicals, and world music legends, establishing Dubai as a global capital of fine arts.
