Jebel Jais Summit & Jais Flight
Towering with alpine grandeur over the northern tip of the UAE, Jebel Jais is the undisputed crowning peak of the nation, rising to an elevation of 1,934 meters (6,345 feet) in the craggy Hajar Mountains of Ras Al Khaimah. Composed of intensely folded carbonate rocks formed over 70 million years ago, the mountain features sheer precipices, deep canyons, and rugged limestone gorges. Jebel Jais is a world-class adventure destination. It is home to Jais Flight, certified by Guinness World Records as the world's longest zipline. Suspended in a horizontal 'superman' harness, thrill-seekers launch from an aerodynamic launch platform 1,680 meters high, soaring 2.83 kilometers across chasms at speeds between 120 and 160 km/h before landing on a suspended glass platform. For hikers and nature enthusiasts, the mountain offers 16 kilometers of marked hiking trails, the Bear Grylls Explorers Camp, the Jais Sledder alpine coaster, and 1484 by Puro—the highest restaurant in the UAE.
