Qasr Al Watan Presidential Palace
Situated within the Presidential Palace compound in Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan ('Palace of the Nation') is a functioning palace of state that invites the world to appreciate the heritage, governance, and cultural achievements of the UAE. Built from white granite and limestone, the palace radiates sovereign dignity with monumental domes, intricate mosaics, and arched colonnades overlooking the Arabian Gulf. The central Great Hall (The Grand Hall) features a massive 37-meter dome adorned with traditional arabesque geometry in gold, silver, and blue, representing the sands, seas, and skies of the Emirates. The mirrored cubes and illuminated chandeliers evoke royal grandeur. Visitors can walk through the Spirit of Collaboration room where the UAE Cabinet and Federal Supreme Council convene, as well as the Presidential Banquet hall. The House of Knowledge showcases rare historical manuscripts, historic holy texts, ancient astrolabes, and original cartography illustrating the Golden Age of Arab scholarship.
