Bimmah Sinkhole (Hawiyat Najm) - Meteorite Pool
According to ancient Omani folklore, this stunning 20-meter-deep crater was formed when a falling meteorite pierced the earth—giving it the Arabic name Hawiyat Najm ('The Falling Star'). In reality, a collapse of limestone cavern rock opened an underground conduit to the sea, creating a crystal-clear natural swimming sanctuary filled with gentle 'doctor fish'.
“A breathtaking natural limestone sinkhole filled with luminous turquoise brackish water, born of subterranean collapses.”
