Al Mughsail Beach & Marneef Cave Blowholes
Located 45 kilometers west of Salalah along a cliff-carved coastal road, Al Mughsail Beach is one of Arabia’s most wild and theatrical seascapes. Here, a pristine six-kilometer crescent of powdery white sand meets the surging swells of the Arabian Sea, framed by towering vertical limestone crags that drop precipitously into crashing turquoise surf. At the western promontory lies Marneef Cave, an expansive natural limestone overhang equipped with walking paths, lookouts, and picnic terraces. Its defining geological spectacle is the famous Marneef Blowholes: natural subterranean fissures in the limestone sea shelf. When heavy oceanic swells roll in—particularly during the summer monsoon—compressed air and seawater force their way through the narrow vents, erupting into spectacular natural water geysers reaching up to 28 meters into the sky with a roaring sonic rumble.
“A dramatic six-kilometer white-sand coastline guarded by sheer cliffs, famous for natural blowholes erupting oceanic geysers high into the air.”
